Your Stay

We want your time at the cottage to feel effortless from the moment you arrive. These guidelines exist to protect the experience for every guest — and to make sure we can welcome you back again and again.

If anything is unclear, just reach out. We love hearing from our guests.

Check-in is at 4:00 pm. Your unique door code will be sent the morning of your arrival, typically between 10:00 am and 12:00 pm. The code activates at check-in time and expires at checkout.

Detailed directions, parking instructions, Wi-Fi credentials, and a resort orientation will be included in your check-in message. If you have any questions on arrival day, we are always just a text or call away.

We do not currently offer early check-in. If your plans bring you to Kelowna before 4:00 pm, the resort grounds, pool, and restaurant are a wonderful way to start your visit while the cottage is being prepared.

Check-out is at 10:00 am. We keep this simple — lock up and leave the rest to us.

Before you go:

  • Lock all doors and windows
  • Turn off lights, fans, and the thermostat
  • Take out your garbage to the bins at the end of the driveway
  • Check for personal belongings

That is it. Leave the linens on the beds, the dishes where they are. Our team handles everything else.

We will send a gentle reminder the evening before your departure so your last Okanagan morning stays unhurried.

Late check-out is not currently available.

We accept credit card payments through our secure booking platform.

Payment schedule

  • Peak season (July – August): 50% deposit at booking, balance due 30 days before arrival
  • Shoulder & off-season: 25% deposit at booking, balance due 30 days before arrival
  • Bookings made within 30 days of arrival: Full payment at booking

Taxes & fees

All rates are in Canadian dollars. The following taxes apply to all reservations:

  • 5% GST (Federal Goods and Services Tax)
  • 8% PST (Provincial Sales Tax)
  • 3% MRDT (Municipal and Regional District Tax)

A flat $200 cleaning fee applies to all stays. For stays of seven nights or longer, the cleaning fee is waived.

Life happens, and we understand plans can change.

  • 30+ days before check-in: Full refund
  • 14 – 30 days before check-in: 50% refund
  • Less than 14 days before check-in: No refund

All cancellation requests must be made in writing via email to info@okanagancottages.ca. The cancellation date is determined by when we receive your message.

We strongly recommend travel insurance for all bookings, particularly during winter months when weather can affect travel plans.

Our cottage comfortably accommodates up to 6 guests across two bedrooms and a loft. The number of guests may not exceed this maximum at any time.

What we provide

  • Fresh linens and towels for all guests
  • A fully equipped kitchen with cookware, dishes, and utensils
  • Coffee maker, toaster, and essential pantry staples
  • High-speed Wi-Fi throughout the cottage
  • Washer and dryer
  • Bath and body essentials
  • A welcome guide with local recommendations

Your unique Wi-Fi network and password will be included in your check-in instructions.

We take pride in maintaining the cottage to a high standard, and we trust our guests to treat it with the same care.

A $500 security deposit is pre-authorized on your credit card before arrival. This is a hold, not a charge — no money leaves your account unless a claim is made. The hold is released within seven days of checkout following a routine inspection.

If something breaks or spills during your stay, please let us know right away. Accidents happen — we would rather fix it quickly than discover it later. Most issues are easily resolved and will not result in a charge.

We photograph the cottage before and after every stay. In the rare event that damage exceeds normal wear and tear, we will provide photos and repair costs before processing any claim against the deposit.

LaCasa is a peaceful lakeside community. To ensure every guest and resident enjoys the setting:

  • Quiet hours are 11:00 pm to 8:00 am daily (resort-wide rule). During this time, noise should not be audible from neighbouring cottages.
  • No parties, events, or large gatherings. The cottage is for registered guests only.
  • A maximum of 8 day visitors may visit per day (in addition to overnight guests), and they must be accompanied by a registered guest at all times.
  • No bachelor or bachelorette parties.

The resort speed limit is 20 km/h on all roads. Headlights are required from 30 minutes before dusk to 30 minutes after dawn.

The cottage interior is entirely smoke-free. This includes cigarettes, e-cigarettes, vaporizers, and cannabis.

Smoking is permitted on the patio, provided it does not cause a nuisance to neighbouring cottages. Please dispose of cigarette butts responsibly — never on the ground or in planters.

Smoking inside the cottage will result in a $300 restoration fee to cover deep cleaning and odour remediation. This applies to all forms of smoking and vaping.

Please note that smoking is prohibited on all resort common property, including pool areas, courts, and shared walkways.

We are a pet-friendly cottage, and we welcome well-behaved dogs to join your Okanagan getaway.

Pet fees

  • $150 non-refundable pet fee for the first dog
  • $75 for a second dog
  • Maximum of 2 dogs per stay

There are no weight or breed restrictions. We trust owners to know their dogs best.

Pet deposit

A separate $500 refundable pet damage deposit is pre-authorized in addition to the standard security deposit. This is released within seven days of checkout if no pet-related damage has occurred.

House rules for pets

  • Pets must be leashed on all resort common areas
  • Off-leash is permitted inside the cottage and at the designated dog beach only
  • Pets are not permitted on beds or upholstered furniture — we provide pet towels and blankets
  • Pets may not be left unattended in the cottage for more than four hours
  • Pets are not permitted in the pool, hot tubs, or on the pool deck, tennis, or pickleball courts
  • Please clean up after your pet immediately on all resort grounds
  • Pets may not be bathed in the bathtub or shower — an outdoor rinse area is available
  • Excessive barking that disturbs neighbours will result in a warning; continued disturbance may require the pet to be removed from the property

What we need at booking

  • A signed pet addendum (we will send this with your booking confirmation)
  • A photo of your dog
  • Name, breed, and age
  • Proof of current rabies vaccination
  • Confirmation that your dog is on flea and tick prevention

Pet welcome kit

We will have dog towels, water bowls, waste bags, and a list of nearby off-leash parks and pet-friendly patios waiting for you.

Service animals

Service animals are welcome at no additional charge in accordance with the BC Human Rights Code. Pet fees and deposits do not apply to service animals. Please let us know in advance so we can ensure appropriate accommodations. Guests remain responsible for any damage caused by a service animal.

The cottage has two dedicated parking spots in the driveway. Overflow parking is available nearby within the resort.

  • No RVs or trailers, please
  • EV charging is not currently available at the cottage or resort
  • Park in designated areas only — vehicles parked in unauthorized spots may be towed at the owner's expense

The resort is easily walkable, and the cottage is a short stroll from the pool, restaurant, and marina.

The lake is one of the best parts of staying at LaCasa. A few things to be aware of:

  • There are no lifeguards on duty. All water activities are at your own risk.
  • Children under 8 must be within arm's reach of a responsible adult (18+) at all times near the water.
  • Swim diapers are required for children under 3 in the pool and hot tubs.
  • No glass containers are permitted in pool, hot tub, or beach areas.

Pool & hot tub hours

Pool and hot tub facilities are open 8:00 am to 10:00 pm daily during high season (Easter weekend through Thanksgiving). Off-season hot tub hours are weekends and holidays only, Friday 10:00 am to Sunday 10:00 pm.

Marina

The marina operates from May 1 through September 30. Guest daily moorage rates apply. A valid boating licence is required.

General outdoor rules

  • No drones within resort boundaries
  • No fireworks or firecrackers without prior written permission from the resort
  • Fires are permitted only in designated fire pits at the beach and must be fully extinguished before leaving. All municipal fire bans are strictly enforced.
  • Fishing is permitted with a valid licence. Fish may not be cleaned on common property or beach areas.

Your safety is important to us. The cottage is equipped with:

  • Smoke detectors in every bedroom and the main living area
  • Carbon monoxide detector
  • Fire extinguisher (located in the kitchen)
  • First aid kit

Emergency contacts

  • Emergency: 911
  • Nearest hospital: Kelowna General Hospital, 2268 Pandosy St (approximately 20 minutes)
  • Your host: Contact details provided in your check-in message

Firearms and weapons are not permitted on the property, with the exception of firearms securely stored in a locked case without ammunition inside the cottage or vehicle.

We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance for your trip. While we hope nothing disrupts your plans, insurance can cover unforeseen circumstances including illness, flight cancellations, weather events, and other emergencies.

Travel insurance is particularly advisable for winter bookings, when weather conditions in British Columbia can occasionally affect road travel.

We do not sell or administer travel insurance. Your travel agent, credit card company, or any major insurer can help you find the right coverage.

We collect only the personal information necessary to process your reservation and ensure a comfortable stay. This may include your name, contact details, and payment information.

Your information is handled in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties except as required to process your booking or comply with legal obligations.

If you have questions about how your information is used, please contact us at info@okanagancottages.ca.

We want to be upfront about the cottage's accessibility features and limitations so you can plan accordingly:

  • The cottage is a two-storey structure with an interior staircase to the loft
  • The main floor includes a bedroom, full bathroom, kitchen, and living area
  • There are steps at the entrance to the cottage
  • The resort grounds include paved pathways, though some areas are uneven or gravel

If you have specific accessibility needs, please contact us before booking and we will give you an honest assessment of whether the cottage will work for you.

We are here to make your stay exceptional. If you have any questions at all — before, during, or after your visit — we would love to hear from you.
