Five reasons to book direct
The same property, the same rate as the OTAs — except booked here, your rate isn't quietly inflated 15–20% to cover platform fees. That difference goes straight back to you, in the form of the five things below.
1. The lowest rate, guaranteed
Direct rates are set 15–20% below what you'll see on Airbnb and VRBO. The OTAs add a service fee on top of the host's rate; we don't. If you find our same dates listed for less anywhere else, email us and we'll match it.
2. Complimentary early check-in
Standard check-in is 4:00 PM. Direct guests get the cottage from 1:00 PM whenever the calendar allows — meaning a full Okanagan afternoon on day one instead of waiting in your car at the marina. Subject to availability and the previous guest's checkout time, but we say yes more often than no.
3. Flexible cancellation up to 14 days out
Plans change. Direct guests get a full refund up to 30 days before check-in, and a 50% refund up to 14 days before. The OTAs don't extend that flexibility once their cancellation window closes; we do because we'd rather have a happy second booking than a forced first one.
4. The local-wine welcome kit
A bottle of Okanagan wine — usually a small-production bottle from one of the wineries you'll drive past on the way to the cottage — and a printed map of the four wineries we'd send our own family to first. Waiting on the kitchen counter when you walk in.
